2. Size of Bedroom Furniture - If you live in a swanky New York studio it makes no sense to look for a Cal King sleigh bed. Measure your bedroom space before shopping for a mattress.

3. Material - Depending on your preference, choose a bed that you think is most comfortable. There's even some mattresses on the market that will not carry dust mites, etc.

4. Mattress Thickness - Choose a thicker mattress if you plan on getting a platform bed because that bed style does not have and box springs or mattress support. Also, most mattresses have dual pillow top pads sewn right on the mattress for added comfort.

4. Firmness - Depending on your preference, each person may like a softer, more cushioned bed. Others may need a more back support and prefer a firmer bed.
